Compassion

This may be a material world,
But I am not a material girl.
Helping and giving to others is what's best,
It's time to put some kindness to the test.
Like a diamond ring sparkling to the sky,
My heart beats for others outside.
Empathy, empathy, can go a long way,
It's time to make another persons day.

Hometown Glory

For many people, a hometown is just a place you grew up in. Nothing else. Nothing special. As for Batesville, Arkansas and I, we're practically bestfriends. I have lived in such a diverse yet independent town for 15 years now and that's how I grew up; diverse and independent. In such a place as this, you can only imagine the wonderful things that I grew up in. For example, Batesville has very mild weather. From steaming and boiling summers, to cold and frigid winters, new memories are made every year. I suppose that's where we get the term -Home is Where the Heart is-. My heart is forever in Batesville.
Being in such a wonderful place for so long, I will never forget Main Street. From new and quaint, to old and historic, many of my best memories were founded on Main Street. I specifically remember when I was 5 years old, I was in the Christmas parade that they put on every year. I won Little Miss Independence County so I was destined to be in the parade. I will never forget the feeling of sitting on top of the car in my Christmas outfit with the freezing yet refreshing cold air hitting my face as we picked up speed to move down the street. Seeing so many familiar faces as I passed each section of people, I wasn't as nervous anymore. As I looked around I smelled and could almost taste the steaming cup of hot chocolate with whip cream on top being passed out to people. The aroma filled my nose and soon enough I was ready to get out of that car just so I could enjoy the cup of hot chocolate like everyone else. As we approached the end of the parade, I remember feeling that I didn't want it to be over. For soon enough, this memory would be over and a new one would have to begin. I suppose that's how it is suppose to be. You end a chapter in your life, and you start a different chapter. That's why If I ever start a new chapter and God takes me somewhere else besides Batesville, Arkansas and away from Main Street, I can always reflect on that chapter of my life and remember how blessed I am to have grown up in such a wonderful place.

Advertisement Analysis

Some children to poorly in school because they see themselves as unworthy. For a child to feel good learning, he must first feel good about him or herself. This Halmark add expresses the idea of encouraging children, but at the same time it encourages people to buy their cards. Through the purchase of a card, a child could be easily encouraged and could do better in school.
Gathering information from this add, I proposed that the tone of this advertisement is delighted, cheered, and proud. There is a little girl in class raising her hand. I can tell she's sitting in a desk. She has a smile on her face and she is raising her hand as if she is eager to answer a question. I think this is the result of her opening a card which is laying on her desk now. The girl seems very confident and delighted. This expresses the tone because of the facial expressions and enviornment the girl is in.
Because of the clues and information gathered from this add, I think the purpose of this advertisment is to get people to buy the cards from Halmark. There are many children in the classroom but it focuses on one girl who is happy after reading her card. On the advertisment it says, "Trying is always the right answer. Say you believe in her and she'll feel good about herself through all the ups and downs. With cards starting at just 99 cents, it's easy to give an encouraging word." You can tell they are trying to get people to buy their cards by stating that the little girl will feel better through the ups and downs.
Studying this add, I found numerous hidden clues that could portray to the tone and purpose. I came to the conclusion that the tone is delighted, cheered, and proud. I also found that the purpose is to get people to buy the cards. Help your kids be more confident in school.

I Am.. (:

I am loud & crazy.
I wonder what heaven will be like.
I hear birds singing.
I see love all around.
I want to have many children when im older.
I am loud & crazy.

I pretend that im a famous dancer.
I feel warm & fuzzy inside.
I touch everything that looks fuzzy.
I worry about EVERYTHING.
I cry when I think about Brylee not being here anymore.
I am loud & crazy.

I understand why everyone is in love with Channing Tatum.
I say whats on my mind.
I dream about things that have been on my mind.
I try to do the right thing.
I hope God will save many people.
I am loud & crazy.
